Central and South America

Most of Central and South America is effectively closed to adoptions by Canadians. There are some exceptions. Sunrise only accepts applications for countries which are members of the Hague Adoption Convention.  These countries are not easy to adopt from, and the waiting time is generally in excess of two years. Our Central and South America Program Manager keeps track of the opportunities as they arise. These include Colombia, Panama,and Brazil.
