Guatemala Orphanage Project

I was recently asked for advice about how to donate to a Guatemalan orphanage.  A Sunrise family had traveled to Guatemala last summer and wanted to use their Christmas bonus to make a difference in that country.

I canvassed many adoption agencies in the United States and was overwhelmed by the response.  Since adoptions from Guatemala have stopped, the situation in orphanages there has become desperate.

Please consider making a donation to help one of these orphanages.  I have compiled all of the responses I received.  Some of the stories are heartbreaking and the need is great.  Donations will have to be in US dollars and will not be tax deductible to Canadians, but please consider doing whatever you can to help.

This year, whenever anyone asks me what I want for Christmas, I am going to tell them to look at the options available at Guatemalan orphanages, choose one, and make a donation.  I hope you will consider doing the same.
